Compliment received from VIAL to SLAEAJ.

A 55 member Business Delegation from Vehicle Importers’ Association of Lanka Ltd returned to Sri Lanka after a very successful tour of Japan from November 25th – December 01st 2013.
The main objective of this tour was to further strengthen the relationship between Vehicle Importers’ Association of Lanka Ltd (VIAL) and Sri Lanka Automobile Exporters’ Association in Japan (SLAEAJ) while engaging in the vehicle and related business which is to based on mutual trust and to help and improve the motor vehicle industry between the two countries. Also, during this tour the VIAL delegates had the opportunity to visit Tokyo Motor show, USS Motor Auction House, Motor Assembly Plant of Toyota Motor Company, Toyota Museum and to view the Yokohama Port, JAVIC, Inspection site and sight seen tour of Tokyo city and a visit to Akihabara shopping complex.
The main activity of the business tour was the interactive business conference held on 29th November 2013 at Yokohama Sports Center conference room at 4.30 p.m. organized by SLAEAJ. Delegates from Motor Vehicle Suppliers, Shipping Lines, Inspection companies and other related service provides from Japan participated along with the business delegates from VIAL.
Mr. Jagath Ramanayake President of SLAEAJ presided the conference. The Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Japan H.E. Wasantha Karannagoda graced the conference. The Hon. Counsellor (Commercial) Sri Lanka Embassy in Japan Mr. M. Somasena, Chairman of Japan Used Motor Vehicles Exporters’ Association (JUMVEA) Mr. Hiroshi Sato, President of HIDA, the President of VIAL Mr. Sampath Merenchige addressed the gathering. Mr. Saman Priyankara Treasurer proposed vote of Thanks. There were presentations by SLAEAJ and HIDA about their activities in Japan while VIAL presented a video presentation showing the hard times under went by both Japan and Sri Lanka due to war and terrorism, the famous speech made by late President H.E. J.R. Jayawardena at San Fransisco, progress and development of Sri Lanka’s infrastructure and Cultural Tourism and Sports.
Souvenirs were given to the invitees and to the President of SLAEAJ. At the end of the conference ended with cocktails and a grand dinner.
