Special supplements for 67th Independence Day celebration of Sri Lanka embassy in Japan.

The 67th Anniversary of Independence Day of Sri Lanka was celebrated at the Kotani Hall Reiyukai Centre in Tokyo on Tuesday, 4th February by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Tokyo with a large gathering of the Sri Lankan community of expatriates in Japan.
The president of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena stated in his Independence Day message, the strengthening and progress of peace in Sri Lanka requires social, political and economic policies that give the highest priority to the needs of the people.
Furthermore, His Excellency the ambassador Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, was emphasized in his speech the domestic ties between Japan and Sri Lanka date back more than 60 years, but recorded and documented history establishes that relations between our two countries date back many centuries. Further he stated how important that is to make these friendly ties deeper and closer in the future
Furthermore, the Independence Day statements of Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister and Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of External Affairs also delivered to the large gathering.
