Our ultimate goal is to emphasis in developing trade link, through launching appropriate program to establish mutual relationship with vehicle dealers and other parties and cooperating to manage and coordinate issues with Sri Lanka Government as well as local and international organizations.
Given the importance of our Association in this sector, the SLAEAJ handed over a proposal on following aspects to honorable Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe who came to Japan for delegation visit.
1. Re-export of used vehicles from Sri Lanka to African Countries.
2. Motor vehicle import regulations to be implemented during the 2015 budget November.
3. Request to apply duty on motor vehicles at a cylinder capacity.
Furthermore, SLAEAJ hopes implementing these policies, customers in Sri Lanka will be able to purchase high quality vehicles for reasonably cheaper price from the world market. In this case, importing a Japan made used vehicles car would be more appropriate since those are originally made for the use of domestic market satisfying with Japanese high standards for highest quality.
