SLAEAJ Japan Cup Cricket Festival 2016SLAEAJ members made their commitment to arrange the Cricket Festival for the 4th consecutive time in Japan last Sunday, 18th September 2016. Unfortunately, due to bad weather condition we couldn’t do the cricket tournament as we planned. But the enthusiasm and the determination of the organizing committee and the cricket teams who came there from different prefectures so wonderful to see.

The event was organized with the valuable assistance of Sri Lankan Associations and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan. Cricket festival was started with the opening ceremony conducted by Mr. Harsha Gunasena and he invited to Mr. Kusal Perera for hosting the national flag. As the next item in the agenda organizing committee members of the SLAEAJ were invited to light up the oil lamp of the ceremony.

After the welcome speech of SLAEAJ president Mr. Jagath Ramanayake and rules of the game explained by Mr. Cecil Perera.

Due to the bad weather condition we couldn’t do the cricket tournament. During the bad weather condition our committee arranged the free raffle draw we planned to do because of the enthusiastic spectators who came there from different prefectures. Winners were as follows.
