SLAEAJ 2015 Proposal letter got affected on 2017 Budget in Sri Lanka.
[15 November, 2017]
Members of the Sri Lanka Automobile Exporters Association in Japan (SLAEAJ), the official association of Sri Lankan exporters shipping vehicles from Japan, have just taken notice of the new taxes to be applied when importing vehicles in Sri Lanka.
The SLAEAJ is supporting most of the items in the proposal of budget from the government. The SLAEAJ is particularly satisfied that the new taxes are based on the engine capacity of vehicles, as the association was advising since year 2015, making the system easier to understand for importers and preventing any risk of manipulation of the duties at the same time. The letter of proposal is as follows.
